Pareto Economics
www.paretoeconomics.comI have been bringing my experience teaching economics in the classroom to assist judges and juries in the courtroom and executives in the boardroom. I provide economic research, data analysis, and expert witness testimony in litigation matters (liability, class certification, and damages) and regulatory proceedings involving antitrust, contracts, consumer protection, IP, tax and other areas of the law. I also provide economic consulting on issues of strategy including pricing. I am currently in the Department of Economics at Rutgers University (the State University of New Jersey) and I have taught at Columbia University and New York University. I have been involved in cases in U.S. State and Federal courts, including as a court-appointed expert witness in U.S. Federal court. I have also appeared before the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice, the Italian Antitrust Authority, and the French Competition Council. My experience spans a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals; consumer products; sports; entertainment; transportation; retailing; financial services; and chemicals. I have also provided consulting services to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice. I have experienced consultants at other shops with whom I collaborate and relationships with economic consulting firms to provide research and computing support when needed. Some of my projects in 2018 included: -Serving as an expert in a breach of license agreement case for an owner of consumer brands (this is on-going); -Supporting an expert in a tax case for a provider of small-package ground delivery services; and -Advising an electronic payments network on responding to concerns of regulators around the globe. If you have a case you would like to discuss, feel free to send me an email or message on Linkedin. My contact information is below. I look forward to hearing from you! Best, Andrew Abere andrewabere@paretoeconomics.com
