"The city's pioneering musical theatre company” - The Age Magnormos is an award winning independent theatre company established by Aaron Joyner in 2002. Since its humble beginnings staging readings and concerts, Magnormos has been trailblazing Melbourne’s thriving independent theatrical scene with a mix of productions, workshops, connectivity events and industry resources. Productions include: FLOWERCHILDREN (2011), THE HATPIN (2011), [TITLE OF SHOW] (2010), LIFE'S A CIRCUS (2009), THE THING ABOUT MEN (2008), MARY BRYANT (2007), and FLORA THE RED MENACE (2007). In 2010 Magnormos presented the first of its writers’ triptychs, A SONDHEIM TRIPTYCH at Melbourne Recital Centre in celebration of Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday, which was followed by a JERRY HERMAN TRIPTYCH in 2011. Magnormos has always held a dedication to celebrating and enriching the history of our locally written musicals, and has supported the development and promotion of over 50 Australian-written musicals through the pioneering OZMADE MUSICALS concerts, the most recent of which was hosted by Rhonda Burchmore at the Comedy Theatre Melbourne in 2010.
