Spacing is a media company that publishes a magazine, website, podcast, and runs a retail division. We are an award-winning magazine that reveals the joys and obstacles of today's urban landscape. Published quarterly, the magazine has become a leading voice, both locally and nationally, about how to build a healthy, sustainable, and vibrant city. Spacing is also the publisher of a wide array of digital media, including a network of blogs in Canadian cities. Spacing has been named Canadian Small Magazine of the Year in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, and 2015. In 2014 and 2015 the magazine was a Magazine Brand of the Year finalist by the National Magazine Awards. The magazine has also been nominated for nine National Magazine Awards, including Magazine of the Year in 2009, and walked away with 2 awards for Best Editorial Package (2006, 2008). Spacing's Toronto blog has been named Canadian Magazine Blog of the Year twice (2010-11) and Best Canadian Magazine Web Site (2012-13, ,2015) by the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors. In 2014 Spacing expanded into it's own retail shop (Toronto's first city-store -- see www.spacingstore.ca) – digitally and in a bricks & mortar storefront - creating an additional revenue stream while giving the Spacing brand a much-needed public face.
