The Port of Sydney is the ocean gateway to one of the world's most beautiful islands, Cape Breton Island. Port of Sydney Development Corporation manages and operates the Sydney Marine Terminal at Sydney, Cape Breton's largest city. Included in this operation are the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion, service and retail tenants, a 100m+ south dock, a 294m west dock and a 190m north dock Main revenue sources for the Port are cruise, fuel and other vessels as well as event, market and tenant rentals. Port revenues were $2.3 million in 2017 and the operation employed 18 people during peak season May - November.
