Charles R. Schwartzapfel, for over the past 30 years, has designed millions of square feet of high end residential, corporate, commercial and retail environments, along with several hospitality and educational projects. Charles received his architectural training at New York Institute of Technology, School of Architecture. He then served a three-year apprenticeship with Norman Jaffe, a world renowned Architect of residential & commercial masterpieces who was a student of both Frank Lloyd Wright and Phillip Johnson, where he absorbed Norman’s philosophy of the Five Elements of Architecture. Charles served as a Principle Architect of the Berrie Residence in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey as well as an integral part of the design team for the Gates of the Grove Synagogue in East Hampton, New York. He has been published in numerous International Design and Architectural Magazines, Trade Publications and Newspapers for his Award winning designs integrating the composition of space, materials, light, connections and concept. His work has received international recognition and many First Place Awards, including two time winner in the National Millennium Design Competition for his residential work. His work can be seen thru-out Manhattan, the North and South Shores of Long Island as well as luxury hotels in Europe. Charles participates in many organizations including the American Institute of Architects (AIA), New York Architectural League, New York Society of Architects, The National Historic and Preservation Society, U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED Certified, National Kitchen and Baths Association (NKBA) and a contributor to the New York Academy of Art.
