We are UBC Sailbot, an engineering design team based at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We specialize in building small and medium-sized autonomous vessels, handling everything from design and construction, to system integration and testing. As passionate engineering students from all backgrounds, we strive to challenge engineering boundaries by designing reliable autonomous sailboats. We provide unique opportunities for students to develop their technical experience in a multidisciplinary environment, along with teamwork and leadership skills, all while contributing to innovations in the field of marine engineering. With a history of autonomous sailboats, we are currently working on Raye. Raye is an 18ft fully autonomous sailboat set to sail from Victoria, BC to Maui, HI this summer (August 2022)! As a team, we have been working on Raye for the past 6 years with over 200+ students having contributed to the project's development. Now in the final stretch, we are working hard on integrating systems before sending Raye off on her maiden voyage.
