BushWok Cooking
www.ethicalnutrition.com.auBushWok Cooking is a Central Australian-based for-profit social enterprise established to promote good health and nutrition through the delivery of healthy cooking programs in remote Australia, particularly remote indigenous communities of SA, WA, Qld and NT. This is accomplished through the roll-out of an engaging family-focused culinary nutrition program that teaches basic cooking skills, good nutrition and food safety through practical hands-on experience and relevant nutrition education. Through the use of a mobile 10-team pop-up kitchen, coupled with the ability to travel on outback roads to even the most isolated communities, and a commitment to effectively and efficiently deliver the program, BushWok Cooking strives to trigger behaviour change and, in so doing, ignite the vision and passion of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nutrition Strategy and Action Plan (NATSINSAP) Key Focus Area 3: "Family focused nutrition promotion, resourcing programs, disseminating and communicating ‘good practice’ ".
