Odd Voiceovers is the undertaking of Audio Engineer turned voice over artist, Oliver Thompson, from Perth, Western Australia. Beginning his foray into the music industry in 2003, Oliver gained extensive experience recording, mixing and mastering for some of Perth’s finest (and no so finest) musical talent. He was a lecturer at SAE Institute for over 6 years, teaching all aspects of audio production and technology at VET & Bachelors level. In 2014, Oliver completed his Post-Graduate Certificate in Music Technology from the University of Newcastle. Having dabbled in the recording and production of voice overs many moons ago, Oliver returned to the world of voice overs as an audio engineer in 2012. With over four years behind the desk, recording and producing some of the best local and national voice over talent, he figured he knew a few things about the biz, so why not have a try on the other side of the glass? And thus, Odd Voiceovers was born! Teaming up with various independent projects, Oliver has voiced for clients such as Rio Tinto, St John Ambulance, the Perth Wildcats, the WA Department of Health, Federation University, Frontier Touring, state political parties, schools, medical centres, retail stores and more!
