After 30 years of experience in the wine industry and business consultancy and a shared passion for wine, Claudia van Dongen and Mark Haans launched a new innovative worldwide platform for the wine industry called Vinexion. Vinexion.com works like a B2B “dating site” giving it’s members an effective way to create a relevant profile and a search & match function to find potential trade partners, quick and easy. Last month - after a try-out period in January - a large group of wine producers and importers has been approached. At the moment Vinexion has about 3500 unique visitors a week on the platform and more than 1400 members have already registered. The purpose of Vinexion is to be an independent platform giving every winemaker and importer, large or small, an equal opportunity in selecting potential trade partners. Vinexion’s members have one important certainty in the selection process of new trade partners, they fit their preferred philosophy, have the right business profile and are available for their market. An important new feature in an industry where this is traditionally a time and money consuming process sometimes only based on “coincidence”. A second barrier that is removed deals with the international language barriers. The platform is available in 6 languages and members have an internal communication system fully supported by google translate. Contacting new international trade partners is now available without speaking foreign languages. With these important features Vinexion will prove very effective in identifying the right trade partners, preparing purchasing- and sales trips or planning visits on tradeshows.
