The VIP Mission “CHILDREN FIRST” VIP creates sustainable, meaningful mentoring relationships for children in the State of Michigan, especially in the City of Detroit, whose difficult circumstances, particularly those related to incarcerated members of their household or community, seriously compromise their opportunities to succeed. Mentoring relationships are created early in the child’s life and are supported long-term in order to prevent and curb behaviors that could lead to the child’s involvement in the judicial system.
