Over 20+ years, I was fortunate to be part of building two successful 7-figure small businesses in the past. Most recently, I was the owner and founder of a B2B provider of custom commercial signage and graphics with a national reach (12-Point SignWorks). I've experienced a lot of the "pain" that is common to small business owners. I've been in the trenches. I've spent too much time working IN the business instead of ON the business. I've made plenty of mistakes internally (strategy, interactions with personnel, etc.) and externally (with vendors, subcontractors and clients). I've experienced stress to the point of feeling my chest hurt. I've had to wonder whether we'd have enough cash to cover payroll. And in my efforts to provide for my family with these entrepreneurial pursuits, I ended up compromising my time and relationships with the people who matter most to me. In conversation with many other small business owners, I hear these pains repeated over and over again. Now as a business coach I share with others what worked well for me in the past as well as what I've learned since then that would have significantly reduced or eliminated much of the pains I experienced while operating these businesses.
