We are a team of master- and bachelorstudents from UHasselt competing in the “Orbit Your Thesis!” programme of the European Space Agency. Since last year, experiments from all over Europe get selected every year that are allowed to perform measurements on board of the ISS for 4 months. We want to send the "diamond-based NV-magnetometer" developed by UHasselt and IMOMEC to space, in order to be able to study the magnetic field of our planet in the extreme conditions of the cosmos. During the 4-month trip, we continuously monitor the behavior of our device from the ground up. At the end of our experiment we will be able to map the magnetic fields of our planet in 3D.
