Koinos (koy-nos’)… is a Greek word (most of the New Testament was originally written in Greek) which means “shared, together, open to all.” This word was used in the New Testament to describe the first communities of Jesus followers. Koinos was also used outside of the Bible to describe common, everyday life. We chose this odd name because we aim to follow in the same original Spirit of the early Church: following Jesus in the real world and welcoming all people.
