The Laboratory for Advanced Collaboration was founded in 2002 as a joint venture between the Laboratório de Engenharia de Software (LES) and Tecgraf of PUC-Rio. Its main missions is to do applied R&D on scalable middleware architectures and services for pervasive systems, context awareness, mobile cooperation and the Internet of Mobile Things. By doing so, it educates human resources to design and implement distributed innovative software.
