Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC)
www.icnarc.orgIn the UK, around 200,000 people are admitted to an intensive care unit each year. At ICNARC, we believe passionately in working together to improve the care and outcomes for intensive care patients. We have an outstanding national and international reputation for clinical audit and clinical and health services research. We aim to improve the quality of care given to the sickest patients in hospitals, through the provision of high quality information to those working in both critical care and in-hospital resuscitation teams. We do this through our comparative national clinical audits and our fully registered Clinical Trials Unit. An internationally recognised organisation with over 20 years’ experience in critical care, we guide and influence intensive care practice at every level – from unit-based policy to Government decisions. As an independent charity (reg: 1039417) with close academic links, we have developed strong working relationships with all staff groups working in over 200 intensive care units in the NHS and have collaborated with them on a large number of audit and research studies. Through our audit and research, we work hard to ensure intensive care patients receive the best possible care and outcome.
