Clothes To Kids of Denver
www.clothestokidsdenver.orgClothes To Kids of Denver (CTKD) proudly provides school clothing to students from low-income or in-crisis families in the Denver Metro Area, FREE of charge. Central to the CTKD mission is our 3,000-square-foot boutique where students ages 3-21 are invited to browse our wide selection for a wardrobe, which includes 5 outfits, 1 pair of shoes, 1 coat and 5 pairs each of new socks and underwear. The wardrobe also includes extras such as accessories, school supplies and winter gear. Students are invited to shop with us twice per year. The students who shop at CTKD are experiencing some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable – poverty, homelessness, displacement and home removal. We envision a community where all students have the clothing they need to feel comfortable, confident and prepared to thrive. To be eligible for clothing from CTKD, students must live in Metro Denver, be enrolled in grades preschool-12, or pursuing a GED (21 years old and younger) and be in need of assistance. Students automatically qualify to shop at CTKD if they qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch (FRL), if they attend a school where 70% or more of students qualify for FRL or if they are in foster or kinship care. Students who do not automatically qualify to shop can be referred by a school, service agency, shelter, counseling center, hospital or clinic or place of worship. CTKD’s attractive store-like setting, combined with our emphasis on providing shoppers with the best possible quality, selection and customer experience make CTKD the preeminent clothing resource for students in need in the 10-county Denver Metro Area. By creating a welcoming, store-like environment where some of the most vulnerable students in our community can select clothing, CTKD aims to enhance shoppers’ sense of dignity and help to pave a path for their academic success. In 2018, CTKD celebrated its 10th year of service by giving away its 1,000,000th piece of clothing and its 50,000th wardrobe.
