Dress for Success Worcester, Inc is a local affiliate of Dress for Success , the worldwide organization. Dress for Success celebrated their 20 year anniversary in 2017. They have over 150 affiliates in over 20 countries in the world and have helped over ONE MILLION women on their road to economic self-sufficiency. Our MISSION is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the tools to help women thrive in work and life. Our VISION is a world where women do not have to live in poverty, are treated with dignity and respect and are strengthening their families and shaping their communities. We are a hundred percent self-funded 501C3. The Worcester affiliate was founded in 2008 and began business operations in May of 2009. Since then we have helped over 4,000 women in Central MA on their road to economic self-sufficiency! We began with our first program, the SUITING PROGRAM This program gives our clients a head to toe outfit or two for their job interview. When they begin work, we give them up to five days of additional clothing. In 2011 we added our WORKFORCE READINESS PROGRAMS which include resume writing, mock interviews, career panels, and how to conduct an effective interview and obtain job offers. Our CAREER CENTER PROGRAM began in 2011 and is immediately made available to our clients and gives them access to laptops to create their cover letters, resumes, apply for jobs online. We also added the PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'GROUP, which is a monthly program for the women we serve once they have obtained the job. It helps our clients STAY in the job and MOVE up in the job. Due to the efforts of Dress for Success Worcester over 8,000 children in Central MA now have working moms!
