Botanica Natural Products is an award-winning, family-owned social enterprise located in rural Limpopo, South Africa. Established in 2009, Botanica Natural Products specialises in identifying, producing and supplying indigenous plant extracts in a socially and environmentally sustainable manner. Botanica Natural Products cultivates an indigenous South African plant, Bulbine frutescens, (Asphodelaceae family) to produce specialty organically certified plant extracts. We are dedicated to the discovery and development of useful indigenous plant species for a wide variety of applications. Some of these include cosmetic and dermocosmetic applications. Through our work Botanica promotes the sustainable use of indigenous plant species and shares benefits with local communities. Botanica produces organically certified cosmetic raw ingredients from the Bulbine frutescens plant. Our Bulbine frutescens organic plant extract has natural and remedial benefits, including: healing, soothing, moisturising and bactericidal properties. The bulbine frutescens plant has been used throughout Southern Africa as an effective remedy for a number of topical skin and hair conditions. Traditionally it is used to treat: skin blemishes, cuts, wounds, stings, scars, burns, external sores, ringworm, chapped lips, rashes, eczema, psoriasis and other skin related ailments. Bulbine frutescens is also known to reduce redness and have soothing, calming, anti-itch, anti-irritant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effects. Our production facility, located in rural Limpopo, meets European standards. The agricultural process used to produce Bulbine frutescens is ECOCERT certified organic.
