The James Durrans Group is a family-owned group of companies with its head office based at Penistone, Sheffield, in England. James Durrans & Sons, established in 1863, has since evolved into James Durrans Group which consists of several manufacturing facilities across the globe. There are four UK manufacturing sites, namely: Penistone (South Yorkshire), Bilston (West Midlands), Brancepeth (County Durham) and Scunthorpe (Lincolnshire) which produce a wide product range including recarburisers, refractory coatings, spinning and die coatings, metallurgical coke, coal and coal/clay blends, synthetic and natural graphites, milled carbons, forging lubricants and machined graphite components. Manufacturing facilities in Europe are centred in Willich (near Dusseldorf, Germany) where a modern refractory coatings production facility is situated. The Asian and Far Eastern market is serviced from the modern refractory coatings plant in China (James Durrans (Tianjin) Coatings). The Durrans Group is also comprised of a number of joint ventures in South Africa, India, Germany and France, with a global network of agents backed by experienced Durrans manufacturing and technical personnel.
