Brisbane Markets Limited (BML) is the owner of the Brisbane Markets® site and is responsible for its ongoing management and development. Brisbane Markets® occupies 77 hectares of land at Rocklea, just 11 kilometres south-west of the Brisbane CBD. As the proprietor of the site, BML has over 250 leases in place including selling floors, industrial warehousing, retail stores and commercial offices. BML is owned by over 150 predominantly fruit and vegetable industry-based shareholders. Its major shareholder, Brismark, is the member organisation which represents and serves the needs of the wholesaling sector of the fresh fruit and vegetable industry – particularly the primary wholesalers that operate out of the Brisbane Produce Market. Industry ownership ensures the professional and commercial management of the Brisbane Markets® for the benefit of the horticulture industry.
