More than 52 years ago, Bruce Hatherley began selling and servicing outboard motors. His diligence, skill and spirit of helpfulness won him a steady stream of customers, and helped launch Gordon Bay Marine. Those attributes are still in evidence at Gordon Bay, now one of the most successful marine businesses in Ontario. Gordon Bay Marine has a crew of over 40 full-time employees and another 30 or so seasonal staff. Mercury outboards and other Mercury motors are still a proud part of the Gordon Bay lineup, just as they have been since the beginning, but the marina also sells a wide range of boats, including , Boston Whaler, Bayliner, Monterey, Malibu, Yamaha, Harris Flotebote, Stanley and, Lund . Gordon Bay’s 6400 sq. ft showroom is open year round, the winter is also snowmobile season. The marina sells a full range of Yamaha sleds and ATV's. The marina also sells OFSC trail permits for three different snowmobile clubs in the area. Service has always been a key element at Gordon Bay Marine. Thanks to long-standing relationships with Mercury Marine and Yamaha Motor Canada, Gordon Bay is able to ensure that all its marine technicians are fully trained in all the latest motor developments. Those technicians are backed by a parts department that rivals any in the industry.
