The San Joaquin County Department of Child Support Services (SJDCSS) is made up of passionate individuals who partner with parents to develop cooperative family relationships and shared responsibilities. We work with parents -custodial and noncustodial- and legally acknowledged guardians to ensure children and families receive court ordered financial and medical support. By doing this, we aim to create and maintain a stable environment for the children shared between two parents. Some services we provide to the general public are establishing paternity, locating absent parents, requesting child support orders from the court, enforcing and modifying child support orders, and enforcing spousal support orders in conjunction with child support. We do not handle divorce, custody, visitation rights, restraining orders, or establishing spousal support orders. California Child Support Services are available to the general public through a network of 49 county and regional child support agencies.
