We are a charity based just north of Inverness and our aim is to demonstrate best practice in the management of Scotland`s woods and forests. We do this mainly via the development and management of partnership projects. Sustainable forestry is at the core of everything we do, and our main areas of current expertise are woodland management, woodfuel and biomass, habitat management and restoration and rural development. We have a strong track record in the management of and the participation in transnational EU projects. We also have a trading arm, HB Ecology, which offers a range of commercial services including ecological surveying, GIS mapping, woodland management planning and woodfuel advice. The revenue from our commercial work will be used to fund Highland Birchwoods` future projects.
