Velie Real Estate Services, llc, dba Velie Realty was founded March 10, 2008. Converting to a corp. in 2012 was not a good idea. Each time I changed or moved I lost history on the MLSs. Velie Realty was successful in SE FL where most of my client business was generated by publishing a newsletter to my 996 community in SE FL, Coral Bay. I miss the community there and appreciate my neighbors there more as time goes by. The newsletter, “At Home in Coral Bay”, combined with many, many community services event in which I participated generated most of my business. Serving as the Committee Chairperson (4-1/2 years) of the historical Pack 836 in Margate, FL, I was proud to carry on the traditions of the 30 something year old Cub Scout Pack that had served so many families over the years. The position gave me an in to meet know the local politicians like the City council and Mayor and make hundreds of friends. As a mortgage broker and real estate broker simultaneously, I coined a tag line that brought buyers to me. Not only that, I managed 15 listings and a couple of Realtors, the same time in 2008 – 2009. The tag line, “Take Your Mortgage Broker Home Shopping With You!”, was very successful. Buyers, while walking through showings would fire off questions on the fly. As I predicted, in my newsletter written and published in the July-August issue of, “At Home in Coral Bay,” the housing market crashed in October 2008. With that, the rest of the economy.
