The SII is a multi-disciplinary volunteer-led organization. We are registered with Corporations Canada as a not-for-profit corporation and with the Canada Revenue Agency as a Canadian charity. On and off Sable Island, the SII conducts collaborative scientific investigations, and facilitates and participates in public engagement activities and artistic ventures, including: - On-island research and monitoring; - Information programs for schools and the general public; - Artistic representation of the island through multi-media exhibits and performances.
