Krajete GmbH owns a proprietary technology for biochemical methane production from various industrial CO2 sources. Main application is zero emission mobility using biofuels without biomass (e.g. in CNG cars, LNG trucks). Our process is centered around the metabolism of archaea microorganisms. Gaseous starting components like carbon dioxide and hydrogen are converted into natural gas according to the following equation: CO2 (g) + 4 H2 (g) -> CH4 (g) + 2 H2O The dual unique selling proposition reaches a wide selection of applications with benefits in the following areas: 1. Direct preparation of C neutral fuels (4th generation biofuels) under mild conditions, hence contributing to C neutral mobility 2. Storage of renewable electricity as methane (“Power to Gas”) and potential use for grid stabilization. This is of particular interest for bigger quantities of electricity. The technology hence supports batteries and pumped hydro storage. 3. Direct upgrade of raw biogas to natural gas without biogas upstream processing i.e. without CO2 and methane separation. The CO2 fraction is readily converted to methane while methane originating in raw biogas is tolerated. Sulfur can be directly used from raw biogas and desulfurization units are redundant when using our technology. CAPEX savings are consequently significant. 4. Horizontal integration of renewable electricity with fuels and therefore access to energy autonomy on community level (“decentralized energy supply”). 5. Utilization of process gases and hence contribution to energy efficiency Recent efforts are directed towards purifying CO2 from exhaust gas. Another unique service is "Industrial Gas Sampling": http://www.krajete.com/service/industrial_gas_sampling/en/
