Ruby Hill Winery

In 1883, John Crellin planted vineyards into a red clay knoll and named it Ruby Hill after the rich red soils found throughout the property. By 1889, Ruby Hill Winery was one of the largest and most revered producers of wine in the Livermore Valley. In 2002, Mike Callahan purchased the 105 acre parcel (West side), known as Ruby Hill and Rubino Estates Winery. Partners Sharon and Mike Callahan, Jennifer and Mike Lloyd and Annette and Mike Brown began their partnership with the opening of our Tasting Room in 2007. Ruby Hill Winery quickly became a popular location for visitors of the Livermore Valley and what started off as a hobby quickly blossomed into something more. Sharing a hands-on approach and passion for wine, the three families are involved in all aspects of the winery business. Whether it's helping on the bottling line, sorting grapes at harvest or working the quarterly wine club release parties, one of the family members will surely be found! Our philosophy at Ruby Hill Winery is simple. It begins in the vineyard growing the best grapes possible, then continues in the cellar where our winemaking team hand-crafts each wine to perfection. Our wines are balanced and approachable, they can be enjoyed now, or can be treasured for the years to come. We offer our wines at a reasonable price so everyone can enjoy them. Our staff is friendly and knowledgeable and will ensure that your tasting experience is unforgettable.
