As a pioneer in environmental mitigation credits from Tropical Conservation Land Banking, InfiniteEARTH developed and actively manages one of the largest privately funded tropical wetlands conservation bank in Indonesia, the largest privately funded orangutan reserve in the world and has in excess of USD $600 million in natural capital assets under management. InfiniteEARTH developed the first validated REDD+ project under the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and helped define the criteria by which all projects are measured. Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve, a project we developed and manage, was the first REDD+ forest-carbon project in the world to receive triple-gold validation under the Climate Community and Biodiversity Alliance Standard (CCBA). It's also the first project to be verified under the VERRA SDVista program as meeting all 17 of the UN SDGs. The project was established to protect a large peat swamp forest, much of which was destined for conversion to oil palm plantations before the establishment of the reserve and is now managed as an Ecosystem Restoration Concession.
