Techies Of Tomorrow
www.techiesoftomorrow.comTechies of Tomorrow began with two educators’ vision to help recent graduates jumpstart their careers in Vancouver's tech industries. After years of teaching in Digital Design and Development, Henry Leung and Ramin Shadmehr recognized some common themes among new tech grads looking to enter the job market. Graduates often go outside of Metro Vancouver for more meaningful, relevant work, while many local businesses couldn’t find talented employees for their scope and budget. On top of this, there lacked advocacy and equal representation of women in the tech field. As passionate educators and leaders in the tech field, Henry and Ramin felt compelled to bridge these gaps in their industry. In doing so, they aimed to give students the platform they needed to gain relevant work experience and provide small businesses with a network of highly educated and skilled individuals that could work within their budget. In 2020, Shadmehr and Leung co-founded Techies of Tomorrow to provide relevant services developed by Tech grads to local organizations while highlighting and retaining tech talents within B.C. Techies of Tomorrow aims to: • Offer emerging talent (and customizable tech solution) to local small / mid-sized organizations that can work within a more restricted budget • Foster more local job opportunities for recent grads to build relevant work experiences and to stay current in tech development • Tackle the underrepresentation of women in tech by elevating the focus of their work and advocating for equal access to projects, employment and entrepreneurship Techies of Tomorrow is powered by a team of recent post-secondary graduates who are passionate about the latest design and development trends. Championed by Henry and Ramin, the team works with an inclusive vibe, openness to diverse subjects, and obsession with quality and all things digital. Our Techies of Tomorrow look forward to serving local organizations across varying industries.
