Compensaid – the first and only CO2 offsetting platform that allows to compensate any flight from any airline with an immediate impact! Travel has an important part in our lives as it connects people, strengthens business relationships, and breaks down cultural barriers. Yet, it impacts the global CO2 emissions. While it is critical for the travel industry to curb these emissions, every traveler can help contribute towards a more sustainable future. That is why we created Compensaid, a nonprofit project at Lufthansa Innovation Hub. Compensaid is a platform that enables travelers to make their flights carbon neutral immediately. In fact, it is the only platform that allows travelers to offset their CO2 emissions through Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). SAF is an innovative fuel technology which reuses carbon from sustainable feedstocks such as used cooking oil, household waste or even directly captured from air. It can be seen as closing the CO2 circle. Compensaid also offers travelers the possibility to split their compensation between SAF and reforestation projects supported by our reliable partner myclimate. While both methods are very effective, planted trees will capture CO2 within 20 years, and SAF has a quick impact. Overall, SAF is a game changing technology as it addresses the CO2 issue of the airline industry at its core. For the future, we aim to make SAF easily available and more affordable to the entire aviation industry and beyond, as we see great opportunities in the travel & mobility sector.
