Maintaining process plants in Africa is usually very difficult due to the remoteness of these plants, lack of skills, and the expectations of the local communities. The COVID pandemic has amplified this challenge. STELO delivers smart Maintenance Management and Outsourced Maintenance services to the mining and industrial sectors in Africa, with a strong Safety and Quality focus. Using mostly national labour, initially in combination with expert expat management skills, STELO introduces a fit for purpose Asset Management strategy based on best practices and made sustainable through upskilling of nationals through a structured and practical skills transfer and development process, supported through technology by off-site experts (Technical, Asset Management, Reliability, OEM, Engineering). STELO’s Maintenance Philosophy is centred around: a practical approach, right skills, developing people, effective teams, efficient implementation, problem solving, with a strong outcomes focus. We are not theorists but practical implementers, who know what works in remote locations. STELO has developed a practical and effective Maintenance Framework and Implementation Methodology to improve plant maintenance performance, in a sustainable way, culminating in an entrenched Asset Care culture of a strong national team.
