The WE Festival is a non-profit organisation that promotes sustainability and cultural development in Maastricht through the realisation of a local week-long cultural festival encompassing different interest fields such as arts, music, culture, food, film and others. It does so by collaborating with 50+ partners including student associations, governmental and non-governmental organisations, private persons and companies. WE Festival usually occurs at the end of April or beginning of May and our visitors can participate in lectures, discussions and workshops, watch a movie screening, dance and theatrical performances or attend some of our night events with live and electronic music. WE Festival has a lot more to offer to anyone who is interested, people from different backgrounds at all ages are welcome. Most of the events organised by WE Festival are donation-based or free of charge to ensure that everyone can participate. WE Festival is open to anybody who wants to help with its organisation, be it a new member of the core team, performer, workshop host or the ultimate WElunteer. WE also look for new partners and sponsors. At this moment WE Festival's core team consists of international students from different faculties, local change-makers and expats. WE Festival's motto is "WE Connect - WE Create - WE Collaborate" and WE strive to fulfil this motto while keeping in mind sustainability and ethical values.
