The Community of Jesus on Cape Cod is an ecumenical Christian community in the Benedictine monastic tradition whose mission is to be a faithful witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, to glorify God through worship, the common life, and the creative arts. The professed Community members come from a wide variety of denominational backgrounds and occupations, and include celibate brothers and sisters, married couples, and single adults. The Community of Jesus follows a rhythm of daily prayer including Holy Eucharist, Liturgy of the Hours sung in Gregorian chant, and private devotion. The Church of the Transfiguration both serves and inspires that prayer. Standing at the spiritual center of this Benedictine monastic community, the Church is a visible sign of God’s presence in the midst of a living fellowship. As a permanent testimony to the love and faithfulness of God, the Church of the Transfiguration visually proclaims the message that all earthly life has heavenly meaning, and in all things God may be glorified. Constructed of Minnesota limestone, and designed by William Rawn Associates of Boston, the Church is a contemporary expression of an ancient fourth century style of architecture, featuring a long rectangular nave, a rounded apse at the east end, narrow side aisles, a peaked timber roof, and interior columns and arches along the side aisles. The organ is a restoration and expansion of pipework from twelve organs built by the E.M. Skinner Organ Company in the early twentieth century. https://www.churchofthetransfiguration.org https://www.communityofjesus.org/ Follow us on Twitter @comofjesus Follow us on Instagram @commofjesus
