Khayyam University was established in 1992, as a response to the high demand for higher education, by many interested students in studying at higher education level in The Islamic Republic of Iran . This University is running by private sector and receives no financial aid from the government. It is self financed by the private budget and fees, which receives from the students with the confirmation of Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran. The board of trustees is the top governor of the Institute. Khayyam University is a comprehensive organization on its own right with many faculties and offers various degrees in Bachelor and Master levels. Khayyam University has achieved high standard of education amongst the non-governmental universities. Khayyam has over 49 full-time, 12 part-time academic members and 256 sessional instructors with about 5000 students. Students are studying in 25 different subjects in 5 major programs of science, literature and humanities, engineering, art and architecture and administrative sciences Khayyam University offers and three different degrees such as Higher National Degree (HND), undergraduate (Bachelor degree) and postgraduate (master degree). Until now more than 6000 students have been graduated from this Institute.
