Greater Lawrence Family Health Center is now the second largest community health center in Massachusetts, serving over 62,000 patients at seven clinical sites and two School-Based Health Centers in Lawrence, Methuen and Haverhill. Prior to GLFHC's establishment in 1980, those living in the region had few health care alternatives. Consequently, Lawrence lagged behind the rest of Massachusetts on virtually all health status indicators. The mission of the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center is to improve and maintain the health of individuals and families in the Merrimack Valley by providing a network of high quality, comprehensive health care and services and by training health care professionals who can respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population.
