Arts integration powerhouse BodyWise Dance celebrates its tenth anniversary of collaboratively creating inclusive dance experiences in 2022. Our mission: to use movement to help those with and without disabilities practice both life skills and academic subjects. Our inclusive online dance classes dismantle studio walls, allowing global participants to move and connect in real-time every weekday. When it’s safe to offer them, our in-person classes, workshops, performances, and seminars offer additional ways to share our expertise with our community. BodyWise Dance programs include Dance Every Day; Morning Moves 2.0, and a new project under development for special education teachers. Our partners include the US Department of Education, Eurasia Foundation, Fairfax County Department of Therapeutic Recreation, Jacob’s Pillow’s Curriculum in Motion, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, MVLE, the National Academy of Sciences, Washington, DC’s Army Distaff, and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
