The LIFE School is a self directed, project based high school (grades 9-12) in Atlanta, Georgia. Student learning revolves around their interests and goals, so each student has a custom, project-based learning plan that includes academic credits (earned through mastery-based project courses), passion projects, and post-secondary planning (e.g. internships, ACT prep). Instead of a school day driven by classes and bell schedules, our day is a mix of large group activities and independent or small group work time. Throughout the year, we regularly go on field trips, have guest workshops, and stay fit at the gym and parks, in order to expose our students to what our community and the world has to offer. Every graduate, at a minimum, has interned twice, learned to code, and started a business, in addition to earning their high school credits. Students graduate with their own mission statement, definition of success, and a plan to achieve it. Our students earn a traditional high school diploma in an intentionally unconventional way. We are members of the Agile Learning Network and the Alliance for Self Directed Education.
