Polo's Refuge is the Senior Dog Retirement Home program of Crossroads Shih Tzu Rescue, a small 501(c)3 federal nonprofit rescue dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Shih Tzu, Shih Tzu mixes and other small nonshedding breed dogs who find themselves facing euthanasia in shelters, released from puppy mills and needing a new chance at life and other dogs from unfortunate situations. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and have no paid employees. Our mission and goal are simple... to rescue as many unadoptable senior small breed dogs as our resources will allow, to rehabilitate them for the best possible quality of life, and to give them a safe and comfortable home to live out the remainder of their lives, however long or short that may be.
