www.thearcofyorkcounty.orgThe Arc of York County is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons with intellectual disabilities and their families. Since our founding in 1952, The Arc has played a leading role in changing the way citizens with intellectual disabilities are perceived, supported, and empowered. The Arc envisions a day when our community recognizes the value of people with intellectual disabilities, makes equal opportunities available to them, and supports them in whatever manner is necessary for their full participation in our community. The Arc of York County provides a wide range of services to its consumers and to the general public in order to fulfill its mission. Services include summer and year round recreational programs for children and adults; adult employment training and job placement; transition-from-school-to-work aimed at preparing high school students with disabilities to enter the working world upon graduation; agency with choice services that help families and clients adapt to the general community through habilitation and respite services; and community education about intellectual disabilities and intellectual disability prevention.
