OpenDoor-Columbus provides free services (a Table of 6-8 volunteers) to women ( a Friend) in recovery from addiction. We operate soley by volunteers who spend one hour a week with a woman who is referred to us by h.a.r.t. diversion court, Federal Probation of the Southern District of Ohio, Basecamp Recovery Center, Maryhaven, Hilliard Recovery Court and MommiesMatter. Volunteers share their resources (social and relational capital) to empower women to become self sufficient and lead productive, sober lives. The focus is on RELATIONSHIPS and are transformational not only for the women being served, but also for the volunteers. Community promotes well being and a sense of belonging without judgment. That is what we provide- a safe, loving place for Hope, Help, and Healing.
