Founded in 1874, the Club Alpin Français (CAF) is one of the oldest organisations dedicated to the practice of mountain sports and activities. In 1996, the CAF became a sport federation and was rebranded as Fédération Française des Clubs Alpins et de Montagne (FFCAM) in 2004. The Club Alpin d'Ile-de-France is one of the members of the FFCAM. The Club Alpin d'Ile-de-France offers a wide range of outings and programs in all mountain activities, including mountaineering, rock climbing, trekking, potholing, as well as ice climbing, ski mountaineering, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
