Girls at Work, Inc.
www.girlswork.orgOur vision is a world where every single girl feels confident and capable. Teaching young girls how to use power tools safely to build is a great way for girls to recognize they are extremely capable, even in a very unfamiliar environment - a woodshop. We believe, if you push girls outside of their comfort zone and believe in them 110%, not only will they reach for that bar, but they will also surpass that bar. We recently had two girls in our Leadership Program building two challenging Adirondack chairs with only a finished chair to turn to for answers. These chairs represent all that girls are capable of if given the chance. It's time to for girls to rewrite their narrative of one that showcases them as powerful and capable. It is the mission of Girls at Work to offer programs to girls throughout New England. We raise funds to help subsidize the cost of our program in order to partner with organizations who focus on girls. Nearly 95% of our girls rely on donations, grants, and sponsorships to cover their program expenses. We also offer professional development for employees in our Team Build Program. Teams work together to build picnic tables that will be donated to local non-profits of their choice.
