Carly Vanderheyden Photography serves to provide high-quality and affordable images for dancers, artists, and humans of all paths, while striving to bring out individuality in each and every photo. Carly Vanderheyden is a photographer based in St. Louis, MO, specializing in dance performance photography, headshots/portraits, private photoshoots, and event photography. Carly is currently a professional dancer with The Big Muddy Dance Company in St. Louis, and she holds a BFA in Dance, BA in Health and Human Physiology - Health Promotion, and Certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship from The University of Iowa. Most of Carly's photography experience has come from years of self-learning, as well as training with photography and media professionals during her summers spent working in the Media Lab at Hollins University's MFA in Dance Program. In addition to her work at Hollins University, Carly served as the Archival Photographer for the University of Iowa Department of Dance as well as the Department of Theatre Arts. While always expanding her freelance photography work, Carly is a regular photographer for The Big Muddy Dance Company, Dance St. Louis, and the Opera Theatre of St. Louis.
