Vision Resource Center of Berks County is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit social service agency that was founded in 1929 by the Reading Lions Club. We have been providing services proudly for over 85 years and our agency focuses on the prevention of blindness and making it possible for visually impaired Berks County residents to lead independent and productive lives within their community. The agency serves over 600 blind and visually impaired Berks County residents. One of our landmark acheivements has been in helping the visually impaired find gainful employment through our innovative "Workshops" program. Through this endeavor, companies of all sizes sub-contract small labor jobs like light assembling, sealing, shrink-wrapping, mailing and collating to VRC clients. We perform a detailed time-study with a company's detailed instructions, so they know exactly when and how a job will be completed. Over and over again, companies are saving time, money, and resources, all while contributing to the well-being of people who would otherwise have a difficult time finding work, and to their community at large. All work is performed locally at our facility at 2020 Hampden Boulevard, and we strive for quick, yet quality results on all jobs. Companies can contact us any time, to arrange a consultation or send us materials and instruction for review. For more information on our program, visit www.vrcberks.org
