Shelagh Howard is a Toronto based portrait and fine art photographer. Born in Toronto and educated at the University of Toronto and Ryerson University, Shelagh Howard has developed her background in Psychology and Fine Art into a thriving photography business. Specializing in portraiture, she works with corporate and professional clients, artists and families. Her work has been published in The Globe & Mail, The National Post, Opera Canada Magazine, Canadian House & Home, Style at Home and in press and digital media internationally, and is in private collections in North America and Europe. Shelagh’s personal work has appeared in shows including the Octopus Project, Contact 2012 at Gallery 1313, Contact 2014 at the MJG Gallery, and group shows at Gallery 44. Her portraits explore our relationships with each other and document how we communicate and connect. Shelagh views a photographic sitting as a collaboration, and is well known for her portraits of artists, musicians and others in creative fields. Her perceptive eye and passionate heart combine to produce photographs that are both dynamic portraits and intimate personal explorations.
