ASAM is an organization in the Automotive Industry, where OEMs, suppliers and tool vendors jointly develop standards. For this purpose, ASAM offers a neutral and proven platform to organize cross-company collaboration in non-competitive areas, to market the resulting standards and to promote their worldwide usage. Through its members, ASAM has a high degree of competence in standardization of interfaces, protocols, APIs, data models, data exchange formats and other important aspects of tool-driven E/E-development processes. More than 400 companies worldwide are members of ASAM, including most of the major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Approximately 75% of members are tooling manufacturers and service providers offering products and services based on ASAM standards. The ASAM portfolio currently comprises 37 standards - including ASAM OpenX standards relevant to ADAS and AD such as ASAM OpenDRIVE and ASAM OpenSCENARIO, as well as the well-established MCD (measurement, calibration, diagnostics) standards, which have a market share of up to 80% worldwide.
