Formerly based in King’s Cross, The Courtyard theatre has been created within the Grade II-listed former public library in Pitfield Street, Hoxton, only a few hundred metres from the site of the first purpose-built playhouses in England, the Theatre (1576) and the Curtain (1577). The latter still commemorated in the name of Curtain Road. The Courtyard has a 150 seat main house theatre, an 80 seat studio theatre, 220 capacity music venue, bar and multiple rehearsal spaces. The Courtyard is located at the heart of Hoxton’s thriving artistic scene. On the borders of the financial districts of the City and Moorgate, Hoxton is world-renowned as a centre of creativity and artistic talent. Full of bars, restaurants, shops, and galleries and with convenient transport connections, it is a fantastic place to study and a great place to experience the diverse cultural wonders of London.
