Project Kesher
www.projectkesher.orgProject Kesher (PK) supports a large grassroots network of Jewish women leaders in Ukraine, Israel, Belarus, and Russia as they advocate for Jewish community, civil society, and women’s empowerment, economic self-sufficiency, health, and safety. Whether launching a full-scale breast cancer awareness campaign reminding women to prioritize their health during the pandemic and war, advocating for resources and legislation to end gender violence, or gathering 300 women from across nine zones for a virtual Jewish holiday celebration, PK-trained leaders are prepared to assess and adapt to the ever-changing needs in their communities and beyond. When Russia escalated its attacks on Ukraine in February 2022, Project Kesher Ukraine’s women leaders became a network for humanitarian relief. The Project Kesher network has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to Ukrainian families, evacuated over 9,000 people, distributed hygiene products, personal care items, and baby food to thousands of women and mothers, and have helped Ukrainian women and children settle into new cities and countries.
