Our research activities cover a wide range of areas, including coastal protection, marine and offshore technology, risk and vulnerability research in coastal zones, and field measurements in Germany and abroad. Large-scale wave channels and basins, an extensively equipped measuring boat as well as high-performance computing clusters for complex numerical simulations enable individual investigations of scientific and application-oriented problems. The offices and laboratory facilities of the Ludwig-Franzius-Institute are located in the Nienburger Str. 4 and 5 in Hanover (Germany). More extensive labaratory facilities are located in the Markurstr. 11, Marienwerder, Hanover (Germany).
