In 2002, Carnegie Mellon University established a Silicon Valley campus at Moffett Field in Mountain View, California to expand the reach of its outstanding professional programs and to perform innovative research in engineering and computer science. Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley offers 6 part-time and full-time master’s degree programs in Software Engineering, Software Management, and Information Technology. Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley is a vibrant research community with groundbreaking initiatives in wireless sensors, machine learning, context area computing, security, energy technology, software and systems engineering, and disaster management. Cutting-edge research centers include the CyLab Mobility Research Center, the Carnegie Mellon Innovations Lab (CMIL), and the Intelligent Systems Lab (ISL). These research centers complement the school’s unique learn-by-doing teaching environment, affording students ample opportunities to explore areas of interest with experienced faculty.
